Densborn Blachly Taps Leading IP Attorney

Densborn Blachly is pleased to announce that Jim Coles, a highly respected intellectual property attorney in Central Indiana, has joined the firm. He will continue to focus on helping clients with intellectual property transactions, assist them in resolving disputes involving technology and intellectual property and provide executive-level counseling and advice for a variety of intellectual property issues. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Coles has nearly four decades of experience across a wide spectrum of intellectual property and technology issues, representing local, national and international businesses. Previously, he headed up the intellectual property practices at Taft Stettinius Hollister and at Bose McKinney & Evans. Coles will work with Densborn Blachly as of counsel.

A frequent speaker on a variety of intellectual property and technology legal issues, Coles is currently an adjunct professor at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law at IUPUI, where he teaches intellectual property transactions. He has been a guest lecturer at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, Purdue University, Ball State University and the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, of which he is a graduate and current member of its Board of Trustees. Coles also founded Access Technology Across Indiana (ATAIN), a consortium of Indiana research institutions.
