Dougie is an attorney in the firm’s Real Estate Group. Dougie focuses his practice on advising real estate development and acquisition sponsors, private real estate investment funds, and investor groups in matters relating to the structure and formation of investment funds and joint ventures, offerings of debt and equity securities, and general corporate governance.
Prior to joining Densborn Blachly, Dougie advised public, non-listed real estate investment trusts (REITs) as an associate at an Am Law 100 firm in Atlanta, Georgia. Dougie has deep experience with REITs and other alternative investment products in matters relating to their formation, public securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. Dougie has counseled REITs on compliance with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, state securities law regulation, general securities law compliance, and the internalization of management.
Dougie received his J.D. magna cum laude from Notre Dame Law School, where he served as the managing articles editor for the Journal of Legislation and competed on the award-winning Transactional Law Team. Dougie received his B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame, where he played on the men’s varsity tennis team.
